Change the Dial to Change your Life
As the summer season is winding down, many of you have probably traveled during the last few months. Some of you may have journeyed to uncharted parts unknown, while others may have hopped around places closer to home. Either way, if you’re like me, you enjoy having sound to accompany you on your adventures to keep you company along the way. Maybe it’s your favorite radio station (I’m partial to the 70s and new wave 80s vibe 😁), or maybe it’s a cool podcast you’ve found.
So, you’re driving down the road, jamming along with whatever your preferred audio format is, then suddenly-you start to hear the noticeable crackles of static hit your ears. Now-the sound is not quite as clear and you may find yourself turning up the volume, but you instinctively know what’s coming next….
Silence, or rather a whole lot of white noise.
Now, what do you do?
You really, really don’t want to lose your cool station because you really, really love it.
Or-you really, really have gotten super comfortable with the music or the vibe, and you don’t want to change. Or-you can’t imagine not having this frequency, that’s been your steady companion for so long.
You don’t want to lose it.
Do you see where I’m going with this?
Due to the programming and wiring in our brains, we humans typically do not like change. Many of us abhor it and we’ll do most anything to avoid it. “Change” is a dirty word for some people and I probably hear from someone at least once a week or so, talk about the hardship and struggle they are encountering regarding a life change of some sort. Yes, change is an ADJUSTMENT.
Life adjustments appear throughout our years here on planet Earth and they are inevitable. But I don’t think they deserve all the bad rap.

This quote often attributed to the famous Chinese philosopher and writer, Lao Tzu, reminds us that if we continue on the same path, we’re likely to experience the same outcomes.
This works on both ends of the spectrum-when you’re living a heart-centered life and feel a true connection, as well as when you’re not.
Let’s go back to our travels for a moment.
If there’s a place on your bucket list that’s been calling out to you, then that will require leaving your hometown, discovering new terrain, meeting new people, tasting new foods, and maybe hearing new tunes 😁.
You will be stepping outside your comfort zone. But, oh my, the rich rewards for doing so!
I know travel isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok. But life does seem to find a way to challenge us, to push us outside our warm, cozy nest, and sometimes it’s in a dramatic or trauma-inducing way. If there’s anything we know about trauma by now, it’s that we will all be affected at some point. I call it-the big T or little t. And it can feel like it’s sucking the life force out of you.
The station has changed.
In other circumstances, maybe after thoughtful contemplation, you’re the one who decides that it’s time to change the station or channel….
You’ve been stuck in a rut.
You no longer feel that you’re growing or learning.
You’re moving away from restricted awareness and into expanded consciousness.
You know deep within you it’s time to make a change….
It’s time to stop abusing substances.
It’s time to ask the boss for that much deserved raise or time off.
It’s time to have that long, put-off conversation with a loved one.
It’s time to rest.
Don’t allow yourself to wear blinders of “this is my life now” when hardships knock on your door.
Don’t hang on to something only because it feels comfortable, if it’s holding you back from the beckoning of your heart.
Don’t be locked in stone like King Arthur’s sword.
Change the dial to change your life!

Changing your frequency does elevate you spiritually to more possibilities and opportunities. But it takes action.
There is power in steering your life in new directions by adjusting your mindset, focusing the energy, and taking those small baby steps-or a gigantic leap of faith.
And for those of you satellite radio listeners out there, whereby “losing” the station may not be a thing and you’re not at risk….The message still applies!
Don’t get stuck listening to only one station.
Because you never know….you just might find another station, a better station, a “whoa, what is this station?!”
Give IT a listen!
